The exciting journey of a remarkable Egyptian vulture continues! As spring migration gets underway, our project receives fascinating news from Antikythira Island.
During spring migration counts implemented by the Hellenic Ornithological Society at the Antikythira Bird Observatory, an adult Egyptian vulture was observed. This is the same individual that was spotted migrating over Antikythira last autumn and subsequently wintered in Crete!
This sighting highlights the importance of long-term monitoring programs in understanding bird migration patterns.
The project team is eagerly awaiting further updates on this vulture’s journey. Where will it be spotted next in its breeding grounds? Stay tuned as we continue to follow its story!
