Investigating the Egyptian vulture’s wintering behavior, fieldwork on the island of Crete has yielded some exciting news!
Two supplementary feeding stations have started to operante and will be monitored throughout the project! These stations provided a valuable resource for vultures, attracting them and allowing for easier observation.
But wait, there’s more! Remember the adult Egyptian vulture spotted migrating over Antikythira Island in September? Well, it seems it has a fondness for Crete! Our team along with the help of local birders successfully identified the same vulture in Rethymno, Crete, confirming it will be spending the winter there.
