Birdwatchers on Antikythira Island documented migrating Egyptian Vultures in September 2023, contributing valuable data to the autumn raptor monitoring program by the Hellenic Ornithological Society at the Antikythira Bird Observatory.

Two Egyptian Vultures were observed during the monitoring period:

• An adult vulture spotted on September 3rd, 2023. Interestingly, this same bird was identified as the one that wintered in Crete in 2022!
• A juvenile vulture sighted on September 14th, 2023.

These sightings provide valuable information on Egyptian vulture migration patterns!
